San Diego’s league leading aggressive baseball is giving the Dodgers a run for their money atop the NL West.
The Padres finished 2019 in last place. Now, in this unprecedented 2020 season, the Padres have gone 9-2 in September and are chasing the World Series favorite Los Angeles Dodgers for 1st place in the NL West.
And while everyone knows about the re-emergence of Wil Myers and Fernando Tatis Jr’s launch into superstardom, rookie manager Jayce Tingler’s aggressive style of play is a huge part of the team’s success, says SI senior writer Tom Verducci.
